Hello Everyone, I am so sorry I haven't written in a while but I have been on Maternity leave and have had no access to a computer. I had my baby on March 4. He weighed 7lbs 7oz and was 20 inches long. My water broke the day I turned 37 weeks which is considered full term. I went to the doctor that day for an ultrasound and I knew that I felt a little like I was leaking fluid, I just knew it was another false alarm. I told the ultrasound tech about it and she said my fluid looked fine but to do a test stip just in case. Well the test strip was blue and I was leaking fluid. I went into the hospital at about 11:00 am. They started to induce labor at about 2:00 pm. I got an epidural and didn't feel a thing until about 7:00 that night. When I started feeling the contractions the nurse checked me and I was 10 cm dilated. I was ready to push!!!! I pushed for 2 hours and he would never come down into my pelvis. The Doctor suggested a C-section. Tony and I talked about it and we decided to do the C-section. I went to surgery and he was born at 10:40 pm. I cried when I saw him. He was so beautiful. Perfect in every way and he still is. I never knew I could love someone so much. He is 9
1/2 weeks old and is the best baby I could have asked for. Thank you all for listening and letting me share. Love, Sherry, Tony and Baby London
Lydia arrived Monday, 4/11/05. She is healthy and happy, and we are ecstactic she is here! Thank you to everyone who encouraged me along the way
To those who are newer, or who are considering getting your own blog going: keep this up, it's a wonderful place![]()
Just wanted to let everyone know that Kalli Anne was born on Tuesday, April 5 at 6:30pm. She was induced that morning and ended up being my longest labor. Her sisters are very happy that she is here! She weighed 7 pounds 13 oz. So much for the sonogram estimate of a 10 pounder!!
Anyway, we are doing really good. She is nursing great which is shocking since we had a ton of troubles with my other three girls nursing the first few weeks. Nights are a bit hard, but she finally slept 2 hours straight last night which was nice. My husband is home for two weeks to help so that has been a huge blessing!!!
I will try to get a birth story written up soon!
Kristi
Well, it is due day!!!! I was so sure that I was not going to make it this far and have her early, oops, I was wrong! I had some spotting yesterday morning and was sure that I would have her yesterday and then nothing, nada, zilch all day!!! Today I have had more spotting, so I am again hoping that she is coming today. My mom's birthday is tomorrow so she is cheering for my waiting a day. My first daughter was born the day before she was due and my other two were induced 6 and 3 weeks early due to complications. I am very glad to not have the complications this time around, but had forgotten how long those last couple of weeks seem.
We just got back from Home Depot buying some flowers for me to plant in our front flower bed. I am very excited to get that done. I mowed the front lawn yesterday to try and get labor started, but it obviously did not work. Today we are just getting the house picked up, laundry done and such to get ready.
At my doctor's appointment on Thursday she said I was 1-2 cm dilated and very soft. The baby looked good on the NST and BPP. We were able to see a head full of hair
She did measurements and she measured smaller than she had last week, but my OB said that is because of the position she was in and the fact that Kalli was face up so she could not get a head circumference measurement. She wants to induce on Tuesday if Kalli has not made an appearance yet! I am praying that she will come on her own as at least from my experience, an induced labor is much harder and more painful than going natural.
Well, I guess I will head off to plant my flowers!! I will keep you posted as to any new developments![]()
Later,
Kristi
I am still wiped, that insomnia odyssey the other night drained me, I am still not fully recovered from that. I am home today, due to exhaustion and not feeling well in general. I have learned the hard way to take care of myself, because only I know in my heart what I can and can't give at this point...it all needs to be to my husband and daughter.
I go Thursday to find out if there is any preparation activity going on with my body, so I am keeping my fingers crossed at this point.
