How does this happen?

Each of the links here contain a special id# or code that is tracked each time you click from this site. The merchants then pay out in different ways. Some merchants pay every time you click on their banner, some pay when you sign up for services, some pay a flat rate when you purchase goods or services, but most pay a percentage when you purchase items from their site.

Our links can be found on the shopping page, and around the site in the form of banners, buttons, graphics and text links. We have featured pages for certain merchants, our biggest being the Reading Room in association with Amazon.com and Amazon.ca. Links for these are featured on our shopping page.

We try very hard to only sign up for reputable merchants. We look for privacy policies and companies that have been online for awhile.
