Pregnancy is now timed from
the first day of your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). The first two weeks of your
pregnancy actually include the time of your period, ovulation and fertilization.
Actual conception occurs approximately at week 3.
These dates are based on a 28 day cycle and is the general method currently used
to determine your Estimated Due Date (EDD). A full term baby is considered 37-42
weeks. If you do not know the date of your LMP, an ultrasound can be used to
determine your EDD.
