Autumn is here and my mind is racing with thoughts of all those delightful
goodies that come with this wonderful season. One of my favorite parts of
Autumn is cooking with apples. I love to take advantage of the great
sales that come along for apples and my family can't seem to get enough of
the yummy treats that I make with them.
Like many web users, I let my
fingers do the walking when I want to find information and new recipes,
and apples are no exception! The web is full of great resources, and
here are a few of them:
"Fall Apple Tasting
Guide"
Before you get busy cooking and eating apples this season, be sure to
check out StarChefs Apple Tasting Guide. Before you know it you will
know the differences between a Braeburn and a Newton Pippin!
"Washington Apples"
They say that they are the "best apples on earth" and their web
address says it too! When you visit this site, be sure to sign up to
receive free apple recipes in your email box and if you have children,
check out their "Just For Kids" area. They even have free
apple e-cards that you can send to your online buddies!
"Michigan Apple
Commission"
One visit to this site and I wish I lived in Michigan! The MAC
website offers so much information and recipes you might just have to stay
up all night with it!
"California Apple
Commission"
The Califonia Apple Commission doesn't have the most exciting apple
website, but it does offer some scrumptious recipes! While you are
there, be sure to get the recipes for their "California Apple
Teriyaki" and the "Apple Pasta Salad".
"I Love Apples"
This website just have to be my favorite site for apple recipes! There are
several sections, including: cakes, breads & muffins, desserts,
pies, and even a section title "Everything Else" which offers
lots of recipes such as Apple Soup and Taffy Apple Salad.
"Family.com:
Apple Recipes"
It's a long URL, that should be in one line so I hope it works for all of
you, but at Family.com, you can find some of the best apple recipes
around. My favorite? The Applebutter Inn's Best Apple Butter.
(Note: If the above URL does not work, just visit http://www.family.com
and enter "apple recipes" into their search box.
